Orange/Peach Tree Card
For a role model resident who I had encountered during one of my rotations, I wanted to express my gratitude through a personalized card for them. I noted on my first few days that they had both a water bottle and a coffee mug in a beautiful peachy colour. In my mind, I immediately knew that that peaches or the peach colour would be part of their end of rotation card in some way.
While scrolling on Instagram, I came across a beautiful card by @miluna_onlyneedle (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMU3mc-RP7n/). It reminded me of peaches and I decided to try to make this card.
I purchased all the necessary supplies from Michael's and then sat down and realized at approximately 12AM that I do not have a tree branch. I remember walking outside and strolling around the community until I found a thin, dry branch on the ground and hurried back inside.
This card was challenging! Each time I passed the needle through the centre of the bead, it decreased the space in the bead so that each pass would become tighter and more difficult. I found that I was not able to cover the bead completely in the beautiful orange colour. I deduce that either I need a thinner thread, thinner needle or a bead with a larger hole in the centre for future re-creations.
This card was so fun to try to recreate and full credit goes to @miluna_onlyneedle for the design, and inspiration.
